Brady’s Birthday…

Brady had a “Cars 2 Race” Birthday Party.  At least that what he calls it.  He LOVES cars, planes, trains and just about anything with wheels.  He wanted Nannie (he calls me Nannie instead of Nana) to make his cake.  My first attempt at the cake was a flop, I guess because I didn’t have Rebecca to make the cake for me!  She usually bakes the cake so Chris & I can decorate.  My icing didn’t come out right either, so we decided to let Brady decorate it.
He wasn’t’ too sure about tasting the icing, but once he did, he didn’t want to stop.
Take 2…finally got the right version.
I made a few other items to decorate for the party and these items will then decorate his room.
When Cindy went to put the candle on the cake, Brady insisted it could not go on the cake, so she put it on the cupcake.
 He loved it!
 All the kids played outside,

then it was time for presents
We got Brady a small trampoline and he helped Erik and Pops put it together.
 He also waiting patiently…
Then, it was time to jump.  He wasn’t too sure at first and wanted Daddy to hold his hand.
It only took him about 10 minutes to jump on his own.
SUCH A CUTE BIRTHDAY BOY!

Zachary’s Birthday…

So, Zachary wanted a Dragon Birthday Party.  Well, it’s not easy to find things for a Dragon party.  Bekah found a dragon balloon and of course dragon’s to play with.  Chris was on the hunt for a dragon cake and found the perfect one.

…even with smoke at the right time.
Blowing the candles...
The kids played with dragons...
they also played a bean bag toss
and a "dragon" scavenger hunt
then Coach Chris worked with Zachary on his T-ball skills.  He can really smack the ball!
There were a couple of “monkeys” in the tree watching…
 Everybody had a good time!

Bible Study Valentine's party....

My Bible Study group had our party tonight.  We had lots of food and sweet treats, but the best part was the Valentine exchange.

You can see in my previous post that I made Valentine treats for everyone and also made my "bag" to collect my Valentine's.  The first comment when I showed my bag was "Oh girl, you are going to need a bigger bag." So, I used my red basket instead of my bag for all my goodies.  Just look at all the bags filled with treats and sweet for everyone!  These ladies go all out for a Valentine's party!!  Love these ladies :-)

Next project is making a dragon cake for Zachary's birthday for Saturday.  More posts to come....

Valentine's Day

So, I have never been really in to Valentine's day, but my Ladies Bible Study group celebrates by exchanging Valentine's.  I first thought to go out and buy the simple ones that my kids had when they were in school, but....my creative brain started working.  Well, I had some help from Pinterest.  Even though I didn't do a complete craft from a Pinterest idea, I did get partial ideas and came up with my own design.  First, you have to have a bag or sack to collect all of your Valentine's.  I just took a plain bag and used my Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) to cut designs to decorate it.  Here is a pictures of the front and back.

Then I came up with my Valentine for  everyone.  I saw on Pinterest the Avery stickers that would go thru the printer and fit the bottom of a Hershey Kiss.  So I came up with about 6 different sayings and started sticking.  I had some help from Angela to keep me straight so everything came out even.  Angela is Rebecca's room mate from college that is living with us for a little while.  Gotta give credit where credit is due :-)  Rebecca had some bags I could use and made the topper by running the paper thru my embosser with a heart design.  I topped it off with a simple heart punch.  How cute are these!

Our group plans to send Valentine's Day card to shut-ins and others.  So, I made a few simple cards that we can send.  Simple design, but they will love to get one in the mail.

.HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
